Artist Highlight: CEDRIC SEQUERRA 'Kaws x Murakami'

Cedric Sequerra (b. 1989) is an emerging artist based out of Montreal known for his love of pop culture. While Cedric began sketching, drawing and painting at a very young age, he fell in love with digital media due to the creative flexibility it allows.

 

Cedric’s debut collection “Cash Culture” was released under his artist moniker SQRA and reflects the world's obsessions with pop culture icons, forcing their creators to exploit their intellectual property to generate immense revenues for corporations until their characters become money making machines, devoid of the artistic integrity they were created with.

 

Cedric’s most recent “Library” series is meant to add a sophisticated vibe to any room with its beautiful subject matter and color. Unlike other artists who do similar work, Cedric’s work is composed and 100% captured in camera with no digital compositing. This series is perfect for anyone looking to add a classy aesthetic to their minimalist decor without cluttering their walls with expensive installations.

 

Cedric’s newest series is called “Collections” and it is meant to capture the magic of a collector’s lifelong journey in amassing memorabilia of dedicated to their passions. From Sneakers to Toys, Cedric photographs these unique compositions so the world can share a collector’s journey. “Collections” will debut in August of 2020.
