Spotlight on the Paul Newman Rolex Daytona Ref. #6265

Vintage or contemporary, the Rolex Daytona is considered to be one of the most desirable watches in existence. The Daytona era began in 1963 with the ref. 6239 and  ended 1988 with the ref. 6263 and ref. 6265; the last of the manually-wound Daytonas. The example we have here is the Ref. 6265, Paul Newman Series model, dating to 1977. The red "Daytona" text on the dial gives the watch an instantly recognizable look. 

This classic and sophisticated timepiece features a beautiful Stainless Steel case that measures approximately 41mm (case to crown) x 14mm (high). The case is topped with a Stainless Steel Tachymeter Bezel. Behind the crystal is a superb silver Daytona dial, which has 3 black sub-dials, a style that is referred to as Panda Dials in the Rolex world. The dial also has silver tone bar hour indexes, matching silver tone hands with luminescent insets, and a black sweep seconds hand. This Mechanical Movement timepiece also has a solid Stainless Steel case back. The watch is complete with an original Rolex Stainless Steel Oyster bracelet that measures approximately 17mm (wide) and can fit up to a 9-inch wrist. In today’s market, it is virtually impossible to come by this circa 1977 watch in Excellent, Like New Condition such as this one.
