This appears to be an original vintage photograph of the Carousel Burlesque club in Ft. Worth, Texas. This institution was owned by Jack Ruby, the man who shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald. The photograph depicts the storefront of Carousel Burlesque on an empty street, adding to the eerie and desolate feel of the photo.
On November 24, 1963, while Oswald was in police custody after being charged with both the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Ruby fatally shot him, resulting in his conviction of murder. Ruby's conviction was later appealed, but he died of lung cancer while waiting for the date of his new trial. Various groups believed Ruby was involved in organized crime and that he killed Oswald as part of an overall plot surrounding the assassination of Kennedy.
