Item Description
This intricate Bumble Bee Pin features different size Diamonds set in 14 Karat Yellow Gold and Sterling Silver. The piece also has special blue enamel atop both wings. There are 36 old fashioned rose cut Diamonds that vary in size from 0.01 to 0.50 Carats throughout the brooch. The piece was manufactured circa 1850's. The wings and limbs are movable. The head of the bee is crowned with the biggest rose cut kite Diamond. When the wings are open, the brooch measures 56 mm from one wing to another and 44 mm from the tail to the tip of the limb. When the wings are closed, the insect is 11 mm wide. The total weight of the brooch is 13 grams.
The brooch comes with certification of authenticity and $15,000.00 insurance value.
