The reverse side of the coin exhibits a heraldic eagle behind a protective shield. An olive branch is clasped in its right claw, while arrows are held in its left claw. The eagle holds a banner in its beak inscribed with the words E PLURIBUS UNUM. It has thirteen five-pointed stars above its head, andit is surrounded by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 OZ.
