When the United States of America was attacked by Imperial Japan at the naval air station at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the US propaganda machine kicked into overdrive to convince Americans it was their duty to get behind the war effort. This included moves to encourage Americans to volunteer for the Armed Forces, enter the workforce to support war production, and conserve resources at home.

On the obverse side of the 2 oz Americans Will Always Fight for Liberty Silver Bars is a design inspired by posters from the World War II era. This design includes 1940s-era US troops marching in formation with an inscription of 1943 above. In the colorized background field, Revolutionary War-era colonial Americans stand in formation ready to push the British Army out of what would become the United States. These colonial Americans wear blue uniforms with a red sunset sky behind them and 1778 above their heads.
