The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is unlike any other national park in the United States. The area of land preserved by the park spans 10,894 acres in the Flint Hills region of the US state of Kansas. Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is the only public-private joint partnership on a national park in the history of the United States. While the land is managed by the National Park Service, it is privately owned.
All of the 2020 5 oz ATB Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve Silver Coins available to you in this product listing come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins in this series are available individually inside of plastic capsules. Multiples are offered in mint tubes of 10 coins or Monster Boxes of 100 coins, with a total of 10 tubes in the box.
On the obverse side of the 2020 ATB Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve Silver Coin is a depiction of President George Washington. This modern effigy of the nations first president comes from the 1932 bust created by John Flanagan for the US quarter. It remains on the US quarter to this day and has featured on all issues of the ATB Series.
The reverse side of 2020 5 oz ATB Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve Silver Coins includes a simple design. Nestled amidst the long blades of wild grass in the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, a Regal fritillary butterfly is shown fluttering along. The species is common the few remaining tallgrass and mixed-grass prairies of the east and central United States.
