This is heavy, high quality pair of mid 19th Century Silver plated candle holders with beautiful silver, copper and brass tones, This set of candle holders would be the perfect gift for any Architecture enthusiast. The holders have an elegant pyramid shaped body and a flower shaped head where the candles are held. These altar 11 inch tall candle holders are possibly English, richly decorated with beautiful Gothic ornaments.
In addition to architecture, furniture also incorporated Gothic trends with astragals, clustered columns, pointed spires, and the quintessential ogival, or pointed arch. This style was characterized by the application of increasingly elaborate geometrical decoration to the structural forms that had been established during the preceding century.
