This brilliant Edward Kasper drawing of Bobby Jones at Merion; depicts the iconic and influential amateur golfer during his victory, in the last leg of the Grand Slam in 1930! From this original drawing, c. 1990s, a limited edition of 950 lithographs was created. Robert Tyre "Bobby" Jones Jr. was an American amateur golfer, the most successful amateur golfer ever to compete on a national and international level. Framed, the artwork measures approximately 28" inches high and 24" inches wide. Unframed, it measures 21" by 17" inches.
Edward Kasper (1922 – 1997) was an artist who illustrated for Sports Illustrated, Life, Vogue and House and Garden national magazines. He also painted album covers for Columbia Records and CBS Records. His works have been shown at the Martha Jackson Gallery, Yale and Dartmouth universities, the Baseball Hall of Fame, and Madison Square Garden. His son, Edward, is the director of the John Hopkins Cardiomyopathy and Heart Transplant Service in Baltimore, Maryland.
