JEAN BAPTISTE CHAMPAGNY NAPOLEAN'S AMBASSADOR  HANDWRITTEN LETTER 1808 - $6K APPRAISAL VALUE!  

ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Extremely rare, one of a kind, 19th century hand-written and signed letter dated 1808 from Jean Baptiste Nompere Champagny in exceptionally fine condition. Written by historical icon Jean Baptiste Nompere Champagny, a very prominent French politician who was also Napoleans Ambassador from 1804-1807.  In this letter, Jean Baptiste has the honor of transmitting a request received from the Comte de Lutzow, who was placed in front of the Duke of Mecklenberg during his temporary absence. The request was to to have an interdict be lifted from a captain consistent with the desire of the minister of finance. Jean brings up the point that the Duke of Mecklenburg Schwerin Strelitz, are friends and allies and it is in the intention of the emperor (Napoleon) that they are afforded every courtesy. This very special authentic historical letter is in exceptionally fine condition for being over 200 years old. With this, you get a $6,000.00 insurance appraisal and certificate of authenticity. The letter translates and reads as follows:
I have the honor to transmit to you, Monsieur le Comte, a complaint which has just been addressed to me by M. Le Comte de Lutzow, Chargé d'Affaires of the Duke of Mecklenberg, which relates to the affixing by Customs to a load of wine that Mr. Pierre Evrest, cap. of a Mecklenberg building, whose name is not said, but which is currently in Bordeaux
  1. Le Comte de Lutzow asks that the French Government be good enough to remove the obstacles that are being placed on this captain, and I can only urge our Excellency to give orders in conformity with his wishes.
By their accession to the Confederation of the Rhine, the duexes of Meklenberg have become friends and allies of France and the intention of the Emperor is that they enjoy all the advantages to which this title entitles them.
