This stunning bronze sculpture by famous animal sculptor Jules Moigniez (1835 – 1894) depicts a standing horse with its head turned. It is mounted onto a polished marble base. The statue measures approximately 13.5” inches long, 4.5" inches wide, 13.25” inches tall overall. The bronze statue itself measures approximately 12.25” inches tall and the marble base is approximately 1” inch tall.
Moigniez was most famous for his bird sculptures, while he also created several sculptural representations of horses, dogs and hunting scenes. He was considered one of the finest sculptors of his era.
