ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This is a gorgeous 20th-century circa 1940 equestrian painting. The man on the horse is painter Henry Stull, in white pants, black boots and a blue jacket sitting in a relaxed position. The clothing is reminiscent of the style of the time. The scene depicts a rural landscape full of green and not very far from what appears to be a country house.
This painting is by Laura E. Cassidy; a lesser-known American painter who typically rendered scenes from rural America. It is made with oil on canvas with strong brush strokes to give a sense of depth and texture. The painting is framed in a beautiful gilded wood frame with subtle decorations. The artist's signature is on the bottom right in black oil paint.
