Item Description:
Silton graduated from the Art Institute of Boston in 1962. He sold his first work in 1967, took a scholastic leave-of-absence until 1970, and was accepted for a summer residency program at the prestigious Skowhegan School of Sculpture and Painting. Silton also had a series of single and group shows on and off from 1970-72 and won a scholarship from The Museum School of Fine Arts. A writer as well as an artist, he uses mostly watercolor and stylizes his work in a detailed manner . This mixed media piece features abstract shapes that resemble the twisted branches of trees with mountains in the background.
It measures approximately 26” inches in height and 22” inches wide.
