ITEM DESCRIPTION:
A vintage piece of sports memorabilia consisting of an authentic game ticket for the 1999 game between the New York Yankees and the Montreal Expos on Sunday July 18, 1999 at the Yankee Stadium. The ticket is in perfect condition and si signed ‘David Cone 36’ and ‘Joe Girardi’ with a black ink felt tip pen. This piece also includes a limited color offset print commemorating the Yankees’ perfect game, the print is numbered 105/199 with a black ink felt tip pen on the bottom right corner; and a engraved metal plate reading “Perfect Game. Yankee Stadium. July 18, 1999. Yankees 6-Expos 0, 27 Batters Faced - 88 Pitches, 68 Strikes-20 Balls, 10 Strikeouts, 0 3-Ball Counts- 5 2-Ball Counts. 105 of 199.” This item is in perfect condition and is professionally framed with a marble print laminated 1’’ tick wooden frame.
On Sunday, July 18, 1999, David Cone of the New York Yankees pitched the 16th perfect game in Major League Baseball (MLB) history and the third in team history, and the first no-hit game in regular season interleague play. Cone pitched it against the Montreal Expos at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, with 41,930 fans in attendance. The game took 2 hours and 16 minutes. Cone's perfect game was the 247th no-hitter in MLB history, and 11th, and to date last no-hitter in Yankees history. To date, Cone's perfect game is the only one achieved in regular season interleague play. It was also the first interleague no-hitter.
