Item Description
 This is a beautiful lithograph print by Peter Max (b.  1937). The title is 'The Room', from the Pique Dame Suite done in 1979. It is part of a limited number of prints. This, specifically, is a very rare artist proof print from the series. Peter Max signed this print again in 1981 for 'Steve and Linda'. Peter Max would often give prints of his work to his friends and people that did favors for him.

Peter Max is an American artist that was a main leader in the pop-art movement. He was known to be acquaintances with Andy Warhol. He is a German-American artist known for using bright colors in his work. The artist is associated with the visual arts and culture of the 1960s and early 1970s, particularly psychedelic art, pop art and neo-expressionism. He is known for using bursts of color, often containing much or all of the visible spectrum. Max works in multiple media including painting, drawing, etchings (including aquatint), collage, printmaking, sculpture, video, and digital imagery. He also includes "mass media" as being another "canvas" for his creative expression.
