Sculpture of a large size seated Buddha, made in three different finishings by the artist. The mudra called "Gesture of Witness" performed with his right hand, pointing to the earth, is key to understanding the piece. The gesture is associated, in Buddhist tradition, with the Budhha's moment of enlightenment. The earth witness mudra is also called the Bhumi-sparsha ("gesture of touching the earth") mudra. This mudra represents steadfastness. It is made in gres with natural enamels in earth colours: brown, red, ochre.
