ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This one of a kind WNBA photograph was taken from the WNBA photo archive and cannot be found anywhere else. This was photographed by prominent sports photographer,  Rocky Widner. Widner, who is from Sacramento, does a lot of work for the Sacramento Kings. He was evidently hired by the WNBA circa 1999 to photograph the Sacramento Monarchs. That is when he took this beautiful special photograph from the front row of the arena.

Photographed, Ticha Penicheiro (#21) and Linda Burgess (#42) played for the Sacramento Monarchs. Standing in between them, is player number 9 of the Minnesota Lynx. This beautiful action shot captures four-time WNBA All-Star, Ticha Penicheiro, mid-air with the ball in her palm. This photo appears to be from approximately 1999. Her career began a year earlier in 1998 and spanned over 10 years when she finished her last season in 2009.  

This photograph came from the WNBA photograph archive and they kept it as a “special picture”. We acquired it directly from somebody from the archives. It measures 20 x 24 inches.. Professionally matted on a hard wooden board. Approximately ⅓ of an inch thick. ¾  inch frame on the back. A very very cool and original piece and certainly one of a kind that came from the NBA archives.
