- Description
This is a pair of large altar candlesticks, in Baroque style of the end of 19th century. Century, sheet brass in rich embossed with foliage, cherubs heads, cartridges, and other organic shaped elements characteristic of the Baroque period. The candlesticks have a triangular base on three paw-shaped feet, a floral shaped head where the more simple candle holder is located, and a Baluster schaft resembling a collumn, pillaster or a similar architectural element characteristic of this maximalist style.
The candle sticks are in excellent condition having signs of wear, having common dark spots over the material as a sign of age, still showing the typical dark gold tone of brass metalworks. This antique piece would made a good addition to any lover of classic decorative arts.
