Robert Gasper

Robert Thomas Gasper was a noted New York City artist and designer. He graduated from Cleveland Institute of Art and furthered his education at New York University. Gasper was the founder and owner of Flowerpatch Designs, New York City, and enjoyed a distinguished career in the Apparel Industry and the Decorative Design area of the Home Furnishings Industry. The Flowerpatch Studio was a trend-setting design studio on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue established in 1964. Robert employed and trained as many as 20 artists at a time, many of whom have held major positions in the industry.
 
 
He loved to teach Home Furnishings Design at Parsons School of Design in New York and lectured on the field of design in New York, Japan, and Korea. He produced designs for the wall covering, upholstery, and drapery industry and for such major converters and manufacturers as: Burlington Industries, West Point Pepperell, Schumacher & Co., Cannon Mills, and Mikasa.
