1963 HARLEM GLOBETROTTER VINTAGE ONE OF A KIND PHOTO 

- $8K APPRAISAL VALUE

ITEM DESCRIPTION:

One extremely rare and possibly unique photo (dim 4” × 5”) of a black and white original vintage photograph that features the beloved Harlem Globetrotters in their 1963-1964 season. This photo was taken 60 years ago and the entire team is standing in either a gym or a church (there is a cross in the background). The team was led by Inman Jackson and Ermer Robinson that year, which was a rare occurrence, because they only coached for one season.

This photo is particularly special because Meadow Lark Lemon, known as the “clown prince” is pictured in the image. Lemon is a beloved Globetrotter; he was known for bringing comedy and levity to the team, and in honor of him the Globetrotter’s have even retired his number. Every player in this photo is dead now with the exception of Howard Montgomery, which adds to the picture's value. This is an exceptional photo that cannot be reproduced, and it display a premier comedic basketball team that entertained millions. This is a fantastic memento to add to any basketball lovers collection.
