UNIVERSAL GENEVE POLEROUTER  AUTOMATIC VINTAGE 1950S MEN'S WATCH-$25K APPRAISAL & CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY 

ITEM DESCRIPTION: 
One men's incredibly Universal Geneve Polerouter wristwatch. Polerouter was Genta's first watch design brought to market, penned by the young Swiss designer in his early 20s. The watch was a sales success and propelled Genta’s career forward (allowing for the greats such as the Royal Oak and the Nautilus.) The first Polerouter was released in 1954 (and originally called the POLARouter) to celebrate and promote Scandinavian Airlines’ Royal Viking polar flights between New York City, Los Angeles and Europe. The flights forged a new route over the North Pole, reducing flight times between the two continents. Flying over the North Pole presented a unique set of challenges for a watch, and the Polerouter was designed to be highly resistant to magnetic fields (in addition to the usual shock and water resistance) so as to maintain accuracy during the trip.

The entire case is stainless steel including the case, back, crown and matching waterproof case back. It has a special off-white gold tone and patinaed center dial with crosses with a cross on it. And the outside about four millimeters of engraved silver stainless steel on the edge of the dial with white gold style markers around the case. It has the one of the nicest combination dials we've ever seen. It has the high quality automatically perpetual movement. It is an absolutely incredibly beautiful brand new condition. It comes on a beautiful aftermarket heavy black crocodile style strap. And the watch is one of the most aesthetically beautiful examples of this rare watch we have ever seen. It comes exactly as pictured in the photographs.
