This calendar for 1992 year is one of the first promotional campaigns against AIDS. It was made by Landmark Calendars and came out under the "Art Against AIDS" title. It contains the art works (paintings, photographs, illustrations) by many famous artists such as Annie Leibovitz, Keith Harring, Willem de Cooning, David Hockney etc. Art Against AIDS represents a major commitment by artist and cultural and business leaders to work together to raise urgently needed funds in the fight against AIDS. As the largest fundraising effort ever for AIDS, the campaign has raised over $6 million to date. With the continued generosity of concerned Americans, Art Against AIDS provides significant fundraising for AIDS projects.
Sponsored by the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmFAR), and celebrated in five cities across United States, Art Against AIDS benefits AmFAR as well as local AIDS service organizations, providing funds for AIDS research, education, care and services.
