This is an innovative 3D mixed media by American pop artist Charles Fazzino in 1995. This mesmerizing work is made of serigraphy, and multi-layered cardstock cutouts. In this tondo, Fazzino makes an homage to Washington D.C, rendering its most iconic landmarks. This piece is in excellent condition, signed ‘Charles Fazzino’, titled ‘Our Salute to Washington’ and numbered 141/150 in pencil on the bottom of the piece; it is professionally framed with a white background, double layered white and blue mats in a black laminated wooden shadowbox.
Charles Fazzino is an American pop artist born in 1955, known for his silkscreen serigraphs in a 3D pop art style. His artwork incorporates influence from urban landscapes, sporting events, and modern celebrities. Today, Fazzino's artwork is sold and exhibited in galleries, museums, and art shows in more than 20 countries worldwide. A majority of his event-specific artwork for major events represents The Super Bowl, The Grammy Awards, The Pori Jazz Festival, Major League Baseball All-Star Game, and the Daytime Emmy Awards. Fazzino is most well known for the three-dimensionality of his silkscreen serigraphs.
