For the nation of Austria, its culture is on full display on the obverse and reverse of the official gold apr57 coin of the country, the Austrian Gold Philharmonic. With imagery representative of the famed Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, it is one of the most beloved coins in Europe. Today, you can purchase a 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic from APR 57.

Coin Highlights:

  • INTRODUCED IN 1989!
  • Contains 1/10 oz of .9999 pure gold.
  • Issued a face value of 10 (Euros) by the Austrian government.
  • Official gold apr57 coin of Austria, designed by Thomas Pesendorfer.
  • Musikverein Pipe Organ on the obverse.
  • Orchestra instruments from the Vienna Philharmonic on the reverse.

The Austrian Mint released the nations first-ever gold apr57 coin in 1989 with its Austrian Gold Philharmonic. The coins design came from Austrian Mint engraver Thomas Pesendorfer, and featured imagery on both sides representing the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra. Originally formed in 1842, it is one the longest running and most popular orchestras in the world today.

Austrian Gold Philharmonic coins actually debuted with only a 1 oz and oz variety available. These 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic coins were not added until 1991, at which point the Austrian Mint also released a oz version of the coin.

Each 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic coin available to you today will feature a random year of issue mark. The coins will have year-of-issue marks ranging from the introductory year of 1991 to the current 2016 series. The specific year of release you receive will depend upon availability at the APR 57 warehouse at the time your order is processed for shipping.

On the obverse of all coins in the series youll find the image of the pipe organ from inside the Musikverein Golden Hall in Vienna. Engravings on this face are in German, and include Republik Osterreich, the coins face value, and the phrase 1 Unze Gold 999.9.

The reverse also features engravings in German that read Wiener Philharmoniker. Design elements on this face focus on the variety of musical instruments used by members of the orchestra, and include a Vienna horn, bassoon, harp, and four violins, among others.
