April 30, 1914
Dear Mr Carter;
If you will put in the windows of rooms 24, 25 and 26 dark green shades in addition to the light colored shades already on them, we shall take them as per your letter, arriving in the afternoon of June 17th. We very much infer that the rooms be fitted with metal bedsteads if you have them. We like single beds. We shall also wish the automobile. The driver must be experienced, sober and most careful. With our new car, we have never had a “narrow-escape”. We wish to take no chances. Please confirm this letter, particularly as to date of your opening. We have found the bright moving light disturbing to sleep and for that reason we request the green shades. I hope that you will have a __ season.
