The Viking Series of silver bars from Monarch Precious Metals now has a 2^nd design available with the release of the Flail and Shield design. The first design in the series featured a similar looking Viking warrior, clad in different armor and wielding different weaponry.

For the 2^nd release, the 5 oz Monarch Flail and Shield Viking Silver Bar includes the imposing image of a fearsome warrior. This particular warrior is wielding a spiked flail over his head. The flail is a weapon that had its roots in agriculture in medieval Europe, but eventually came to be used as a deadly and efficient weapon on the battle fields of Europe and Asia.

On the obverse of these Monarch silver bars youll find the image of a Viking warrior, holding his shield in one hand to protect his body and swinging his flail above his head in preparation to strike. There were numerous variations on the flail used in battle, but most featured a ball on a chain at the end of a stick which had several deadly spikes on it.

Additional features on this face of the 5 oz Monarch Flail and Shield Viking Silver Bar include engravings that identify the bars weight, purity, and metal content. Youll also find the recognizable crown logo of Monarch Precious Metals. There are no engravings on the reverse face of the bar.
