Manufactured in the 1970s by Zodiac in Switzerland. Vintage Watch Gifted by Saddam Hussein Court. This incredibly rare and historical piece has a case made from solid Stainless Steel and has a solid caseback. This watch additionally features an 18K Yellow Gold bezel and crown. The case measures approximately 36 mm wide (case to crown) and is 8 mm (high). Behind the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is a superb dial which features an ultra rare Gold design with Gold style hour markers and a date dial at 3 o'clock. To the right of 9 o'clock, the Iraqi presidential seal is displayed in color. This Quartz operated watch is enclosed with a Stainless Steel Bracelet with a Stainless Steel fastener for adjustable sizing. This incredibly unique piece is one of a very limited run and is guaranteed to please any collector!
Saddam Hussein was the fifth President of Iraq, serving in this capacity from 16 July 1979 until 9 April 2003. A leading member of the revolutionary Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, and later, the Baghdad-based Ba'ath Party and its regional organization Ba'ath Party – Iraq Region—which espoused ba'athism, a mix of Arab nationalism and Arab socialism—Saddam played a key role in the 1968 coup (later referred to as the 17 July Revolution) that brought the party to power in Iraq.
